Not everyone who comes to your website will know exactly what your business does. If you don’t explain what your business does then that visitor most likely go to another business.
You will have many questions about why you need this. I will answer some of those questions in this blog post. If you have more questions you can contact me through social media and I may include the answer here.
The homepage is the page that most people brand new to your website will visit. There are certain things that must be on the home page. One of the major ones is a call to action. In a call to action you explain what you do, and create a path for someone to follow. If there is no call to action then people on your website will go to many different pages. People want to follow a path and get the help they need.
If your business does many different things then you should say what category of work you do. It could be IT services, it could be trainer, or anything like that. So that if someone doesn’t need help in that area they can go to another business and try and get the help they want.
While the about page should have more details about your business, there are many other things it could include. Instead of listing them here I’m going to refer you to posts by Iconic Group, Melyssa Griffin, and Copyblogger. Remember that each about page should be different since everyone has their own way of writing and their own story.
To wrap up, you need to tell the reader exactly what your business does to ensure you target the right audience. If you don’t target the right audience it means time and money spent on people who won’t be your customer.
